A BID to convert a property into a house of multiple occupation - which was turned down by Barnsley Council - has been ignored by a landlord.

Applicant Azad Jarrah was denied the planning permission required to change the Dodworth Road property’s use in December 2021.

However, according to the council’s planning enforcement team, the refusal was ignored and the house was turned into a multi-occupancy unit.

Action has been taken, according to a report, and the property must be put back to its former configuration by next month.
