HUNDREDS of people from the Kurdish community turned out to pay their respects to Kosta Erik Scurfield.
Kosta, 25, died in Syria whilst fighting against Islamic State - the first British national to lose his life.
His funeral was held today (March 26) at a Greek Orthadox church in Nottingham where it is believed he has extended family.
His coffin was draped with a Kurdish flag and mourners clutched posters bearing his face and the word 'hero'.
