AN Irish woman is appealing to be reunited with an old school friend who moved to Barnsley more than 50 years ago.
Jean Hamilton’s daughter Hazel Burton wrote to the Chronicle on behalf of her mum.
Hazel said her mum, whose maiden name was Hamilton, went to Strabane Girls School in County Donegal and became great friends with a girl called Greta Snodgrass who at that time was living with her grandmother in Milford.
Greta’s parents had moved to Barnsley some time before and she and her cousin Uel moved to the town in the early 1960s making their home in Park Grove.
