SCORES of teachers went out on strike on Tuesday, prompting the closure of 20 local schools.
The NUT strike on Tuesday was campaigning to increase funding to schools, guarantee terms and conditions in all schools and to resume negotiations on teacher contracts about workloads.
NUT branch secretary Roy Bowser said unless the issues are resolved, he believed there could be additional strike action in the autumn term.
