A WOMAN will be feeling the chill this winter as she has braved the shave for charity.

Adele Dixon, 28, of Rose Avenue, Darfield decided to brave the shave for Macmillan, who offer advice, support and care to those who are diagnosed with cancer.

She said: “A few weeks ago I lost my phone and my purse. I was fortunate enough to have them both returned to me but it made me think. There are a lot of people who are less fortunate than me and I wanted to give something back so I decided to shave my hair.

“My nannan who is no longer with us had cancer three times so I wanted to support Macmillan.”

With the help of her husband, Brent, her hair was shaved off her head in her kitchen on Saturday She raised £185

She said: “I was nervous as I’ve never had short hair before but since having it shaved I actually feel quite free. I’ve got three children, my youngest being ten-months-old. She did look at me a little strange but as soon as she heard my voice she was fine.

“I feel we all need to look on the bright side of life and giving a little back every now and then doesn’t hurt.”
