One of 141 small bronze soldiers, clutching a commemorative poppy, now stands on Barnsley’s war memorial in front of the town hall.
He is part of artist Nic Joly’s international art installation, where one small soldier has been created for every day of the Battle of the Somme and now stand in different locations across the globe.
