A CHILDREN’S home at the centre of a row about teenagers running riot in Cudworth claims it has become a target for yobs.

The spotlight fell on Amber House, on Church Street, in July when its residents were accused of being responsible for a rise in crime in the village, which also saw louts allegedly defecating on nearby St John’s Church’s grounds and hurling abuse at its parishioners.

The Chronicle can reveal that Barnsley Council and South Yorkshire Police have been conducting a joint operation over the last four months to end the issues - something which will continue until November - after bosses decided that it should remain a local policing priority at the north east district’s Community Engagement Meeting at Cudworth Fire Station.
