Controversial housing development decision postponed

A DECISION on a contentious housing development in Hoylandswaine was put back at a lively planning meeting.
BDW Trading's application for 66 executive-style homes off Haigh Lane, bordering Hoylandswaine primary school and St John's Church, was the focus of heated debate at last Tuesday's planning board meeting.
Councillors spent more than an hour discussing the merits of the development, with most in agreement that, in principle, it was acceptable before deciding to defer the application for more detail.
