A POLITICAL stunt did the unthinkable and gagged cricket icon Dickie Bird.
Statues across the county were gagged by Yorkshire Party members on Monday and the Dickie’s bronze statue on Church Lane was one of the targets.
The party said the symbolical gagging was in protest that the region’s voice is ‘not being heard’ as a way of drawing attention to its campaign for a Yorkshire Parliament around the slogan ‘where is Yorkshire’s voice?’
