PLANS have been submitted to turn a former council office block into 115 flats.
Empire Property Concepts wants to transform Springfield House, on Springfield Street, off Dodworth Road, Barnsley, which was built in the 1920s.
A planning statement said: “The application proposal seeks to convert the two-storey office block into 115 residential flats. The plans demonstrate that the amount can be accommodated within the building.
“As part of the redevelopment of the building, it is necessary to replace the windows to ensure that it is secure.
“The site is highly accessible and future residents would have access to alternative means of transport to private vehicle.”
