A GRIMETHORPE firm behind an ‘incontinence supermarket’ for personal hygeine products has announced record sales figures as it heads into the new year having turned over more than £21m.

Countrywide Healthcare, which supplies care homes with incontinence and medical supplies, has reported turnover exceeding £21m for 2018, an increase of 21 per cent - or £4m over last year.

Alastair Kitching, managing director, said: “What is most satisfying is that after a great year in 2017 where sales grew by over 20 per cent, we have more than matched that in 2018, the portfolio of customers has increased and we have many more prospects to go after in the next financial year.

“We are in an excellent position to continue to drive Countrywide Healthcare forward, we have cultivated an ethos and culture within the business which rewards hard work and puts the customer at the very centre of everything we do.

“I am extremely proud of our growth and profitability over recent years. It is comforting to know that the extra jobs we have created are integral to the regeneration of this part of South Yorkshire.”

Alongside supplying care homes with housekeeping, incontinence, medical and catering consumables, Countrywide also assists homes with specialist interior design services, encompassing security and care for patients with complex needs, as well as Care Quality Commission compliance auditing to help them achieve the highest possible standards.

On top of its core business success, the firm has also experienced growth in its online retail outlets for incontinence products Incontinence Supermarket and Allanda, announcing revenue of more than £2.3m.

Finance director Richard Hannah added: “Our online business is growing month on month which proves there is a real need for incontinence related products in the UK as we experience an ever increasing ageing population.”
