A LOCAL historian hopes to rebuild one of Barnsley's most distinguished landmarks.
Monk Bretton Castle fell into disrepair during the 1960s and was demolished but Don Booker, 83, of Hall Place, would like to see it rebuilt.
He said: "It would be nice to bring back some of the heritage of Monk Bretton before it is completely swallowed up by new housing estates."
