An influential commons committee has backed MP John Healey's calls for immediate changes to the NHS complaints process after he took the case of Goldthorpe toddler Vinny Duggan to Westminster.
Mr Healey took up Vinny's case more than a year ago and urged reform of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) at a parliament debate in December.
Vinny's parents Andrea and Andy Duggan, formerly of Furlong Court but now living near Bridlington, are fighting for 'answers and justice' over the way their son was treated in the days after his birth at Doncaster hospital in August 2010.
Vinny, now two, has a rare combination of heart and lung problems, a significant brain injury thought to be from lack of oxygen, and is unlikely ever to speak.
Andrea and Andy complained to the NMC but its 'fitness to practice' investigating committee found there was no case to answer.
But Andrea said important evidence was overlooked, or not accounted for, and in April last year the NMC indicated an investigating committee intended to look at the case again.
