THREE ladies from Great Houghton and Darfield who turned 90 this year had a party in Her Majesty’s honour last week.
Freda Crofts, from Dartree Walk, and Hilda Jobling, from Schofield Drive, Darfield, have both turned 90 already this year. And Norma Sharpe, from John Street, Great Houghton, will celebrate her birthday in September.
Another lady, Joyce Dickens, would have celebrated alongside the trio, but she died two weeks before the party.
All three ladies have lived throughout Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, and alongside fellow members of St Michael’s Church, Great Houghton and celebrated with a quiz, buffet and party on Thursday.
