Barnsley had an afternoon to forget as they were thumped 5-2 at Blackburn.

The Reds took the lead against the run of play after 13 minutes when Chris Dagnall struck home from outside the box.

But the turning point of the game came a few minutes later when centre-half Jean M'Voto was sent off for a foul on Jordan Rhodes. Tom Cairney then fired home the free-kick to equalise for Rovers.

Rhodes then scored a brace after some horrific Barnsley defending before the impressive Josh King slotted home Blackburn's fourth.

Todd Kane added a fifth after the break after a howler from Barnsley keeper Luke Steele.

Barnsley played better in the second half and pulled one back through Tomasz Cywka.

The defeat leaves the Reds at the foot of the table and without a league win this season.
