NINE council employees in Barnsley raked in more than £100,000 last year, according to a ‘town hall rich list’ published this week.
The data was revealed by the TaxPayers’ Alliance as part of its tenth Town Hall Rich List, a comprehensive guide giving a council-by-council breakdown of the full remuneration packages for top earners.
For Barnsley, it shows nine council officers were paid in excess of £100k in the 2015/16 financial year, the same as the previous financial year.
The total remuneration received includes salary, expenses, bonuses, election duty fees, redundancy payments and pension contributions.
