PLANS to turn one of the town centre's most prominent office blocks into flats have been approved.

Regent House, which was formerly council offices and then the base for Raleys solicitors, on Regent Street, has been subject of two applications. One would see it turned into 54 one bedroom flats, or alternatively 35 one or two bedroom flats.

The lower ground floor of the six storey building is earmarked as a 2,840 sq ft 'retail area'.
