A 75-year-old man has been left heartbroken after sentimental items were stolen from his house.

Between 11.30am on Thursday April 11 and 9.45am on Monday April 15, his home on Saltersbrook Road, Darfield, was broken into after the offenders smashed a downstairs window.

Around 20 Lilliput Lane figurines were stolen, valued at around £2,000, in addition to a HP Printer and digital camera.

Three of the figurines are larger, one of which is the ‘Lady Windermere’ figure and the two others are train stations.The figurines are collectors’ items, which mean a lot to the victim, and officers are keen for information which may lead to the victim being reunited with them

A police spokesperson said: “Did you see or hear anything suspicious in the area between the times mentioned? Have you seen the figures for sale anywhere in the area?
