Goalkeeper Jack Walton has signed a new three-year deal with Barnsley.

The 20-year-old had not played a first team match until being used in the final three games of the 2017/18 season.

He impressed despite the Reds being relegated from the Championship, and has now committed to the club until 2021.

The other under 23s players offered new contracts at the end of last season are Romal Palmer, Will Smith, Amir Berkovits, Cameron Simpson and Louis Wardle. The majority of them are expected to join Walton in signing new deals soon.
