Barnsley under 21s' losing streak continued as they were put out of the cup away to Huddersfield Town on Wednesday.

Paul Heckingbottom's side have lost all their games this season and only troubled 'keeper Lloyd Allinson once at the John Smith's stadium.

Flo Bojaj scored the winner for Town on 49 minutes in a game they largely dominated.

Few chances were created in the first half by Barnsley but Darren McKnight curled a free kick just over the bar.

The home side had the better of the play and came close to opening the scoring through Daniel Carr and Jordan Sinnott while Matt Crooks' powerful effort crashed off the post.

Huddersfield forged ahead early in the second half when Bojaj rose highest to head in Sinnott's corner.

Carr almost made it 2-0 seconds later after he rounded Adam Davies but his shot hit the post.

McKnight was the first to test the Huddersfield keeper when his cross cum shot had to be tipped over. A succession of corners followed and Mason Holgate dragged a low shot wide but the home defence held out.

Barnsley; Davies, Towner, Noble-lazarus, McKnight, Holgate, Cowgill, McHale Abbott, Kerr, Maris, Samuelson.
