A WOMBWELL boy is hoping to help another poorly child fly high after charity Dreamflights gave him the trip of a lifetime.

Jacob Isherwood, 11, suffers from nephrotic syndrome.

The syndrome affects one in 50,000 children and causes serious kidney problems.

It has meant Jacob, who was diagnosed aged just two, has spent a large part of his early life in hospital and taking medication.

But thanks to Dreamflights, in October he had the chance to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyworld Florida, meeting and greeting characters, having glimpses behind the scenes of shows and getting to spend time with other children who are living with serious health conditions, illnesses or disabilities.

Now Jacob and his family, who run Mayjay Carpets and Flooring in Brampton, have teamed up to host a family fun night at Cortonwood Infants School with the aim of raising £3,500 - enough to send another child to Disney this year.
