BARNSLEY College is celebrating after winning a silver award in the College of the Year category at the national BTEC Awards 2019.

The college was shortlisted in April 2019 after being recognised for demonstrating outstanding achievements and commitment worthy of celebration through its BTEC course provision.

As a silver award winner, the college was commended for achieving excellent grades, demonstrating clear passion for the subjects offered and its significant contribution to the life and/or study of students through activities such as mentoring or coaching.

BTEC heralded the college for developing students’ skills through additional work placements and industry experience. The college was also praised for high achievement and going ‘above and beyond’ in its commitment to promoting extracurricular activities, such as volunteering and entering competitions.
