TWO of Barnsley’s major music festivals have been postponed due to government guidelines on large gatherings.

Both Wentworth Music Festival and Barnsley Live have been confirmed as not going ahead this summer.

Wentworth will be postponed until June 5 next year.

In a statement, organisers Toby Foster and Steve White said: “We’re talking to the artists with the hope of keeping the same line-up and we promise that we will bring you the biggest and best party we’ve ever had.

“The whole team is gutted. Thanks to everyone we work with, we will all be working together next year.

“All tickets remain valid, we hope to see you there.”

The organisers of Barnsley Live said they hoped to reschedule the not-for-profit town centre festival for later this year.

Cawthorne’s Underneath the Stars festival is still hoped to take place from July 31 to August 2 as scheduled.
