AN AMPUTEE who ran a 5k race has handed over £500 to a Barnsley football team and a hospital children’s centre which makes prosthetic limbs.
Wendy Clarke, 41, of Mylor Court, Monk Bretton, completed the Park Run at Locke Park in a just 38 minutes.
She took up running so she can run around with her young son Ewan, seven.
She decided to raise funds for Ewan’s football team, Staincross Rangers, and the children’s limb centre at Sheffield Northern General Hospital where she was treated after a botched operation by Barnsley Hospital.
