BARNSLEY was hit by flash flooding over the weekend, with many people likening the heavy rain and clouds to Armageddon.
Residents across Darton, Mapplewell, Birdwell and Monk Bretton all described seeing strange-shaped clouds while the heavy rain flooded many gardens and streets.
Crown Avenue in Cudworth was badly flooded with the water rising to a good few inches.
There were also reports that White Cross was under water, as well as the bottom of Church Street and gardens in Shafton were also badly affected.Common Road in Brierley was flooded and a bus became stranded near the bridge on Doncaster Road in Darfield.
