MEMBERS from a burlesque chair dancing group have raised £900 for a cancer charity by performing a 'dance off' with their partners.

Ladies from the Barnsley Burlesque Chair Dance class performed alongside five of their partners/husbands - nicknamed 'The Five A**eholes' - at the Trades Club on Racecommon Road as part of Ellie Etoile's Burlesque show, Mayflowers and Misfits.

The brave lads donned skimpy outfits and pulled out their best dance moves against the burlesque ladies and all in the name of charity, raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

The idea was to try to cajole fellas to get themselves checked out after one of the men, Paul Blackburn, had a scare and another, Richard Thornton, was diagnosed and later given the all clear after the cancer was caught in time.

Ellie Gillott, who runs the burlesque group, said the lads are very much part of the sexy dancing gang now.

She said: "They've loved the experience so much they now join in classes each week and they have asked to be in future shows.

"The next one will be our Hallowe'en 'spooktacular' in October at the Trades Club. It looks like they'll be part of the gang from now on."
