A BUS service could be withdrawn due to a wave of antisocial behaviour including people activating the emergency engine cut off on the back of buses.

Paul Lynch, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said there had been a number of recent incidents of anti-social behaviour in relation to turning the engine off on service 6, in Kendray.

“We are working with South Yorkshire Police to investigate and tackle the issues. If these problems carry on, we will need to review whether we can continue operating this bus service in the area, however this would only be a last resort and we are keen to continue operating the full route safely.

“We have a strong record of working with the police around issues like this and with their help, and support from the local community, we are hopeful that these occurrences will not continue to affect services.”
