A LITTLE girl from Dodworth has cut off her hair to donate to charity.

Abi Wood, seven, of Collins Close, had 27cm cut off her hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust and in the process managed to raise £200 for Barnsley Hospice in sponsorship.

Sarah, Abi’s mum, said: “She’s always wanted to do things for charity and she wanted to do something a bit different than a bake sale or something like that.

“She wanted to donate her hair last year but it wasn’t long enough so she had to grow it for another year.”

All of the hair that has been cut will now be sent off to the Little Princess Trust to be made into a wig for children who have lost their hair through cancer or other illnesses.

Abi said: “I just wanted to put a smile on other peoples faces and give them something they need.

“I was upset that I couldn’t do it last year but I’m happy I can do it now.”
