A CRACKDOWN is underway to stop teenage yobs running riot at Barnsley Interchange and treating it like a private playground.
Large groups of teens congregating at the Eldon Street interchange are terrorising visitors to the building on a daily basis, getting into fights, taking legal highs, hurling abuse at passengers and business owners and assaulting security staff.
The situation has become so serious Interchange bosses from South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive met with Det Chf Insp Debbie Mahmood on Monday to discuss what can be done.
