DEMOLITION work on one of the town centre’s iconic buildings has stopped for the festive holiday.

So far seven out of the 13 bays that make up Central Offices with its distinctive multicoloured windows have been removed.

The stair and lift core was a substantial structure which took longer to complete than originally expected.

The remaining six bays are anticipated to each take two days to be demolished; this work will take place in the New Year with the long reach machine moving up to May Day Green to complete the works.
