AN AIR stewardess is undergoing alternative treatment for colon cancer after generous friends, family and strangers from across Europe raised more than £16,000 to pay for her private care.

Alana Kelly, a 37-year-old cabin crew member for EasyJet, was given the devastating diagnosis she has stage four colon cancer in June last year.

She has already undergone three different types of chemotherapy but unfortunately these were unsuccessful and she has exhausted all available treatment on the NHS.

Alana, who lives in Worsbrough Village, is now having private chemotherapy treatment which has been made possible after her determined friend Becki Waxman set up a fund-raising page to which hundreds of people have donated.

The page has so far reached £16,885 towards its £20,000 target.
