TWINS Eve and Emily Deacon proved model students by gaining 13 GCSEs yesterday.

The pair, both pupils at Horizon Community College, even managed to do well in the new, more difficult, English and maths exams, with Eve getting a top mark grade nine in maths and Emily a nine in English.

The 16-year-olds will continue their studies at college, with Emily wanting to be a lawyer and Eve, who is also a part time model, planning on studying maths, further maths and economics at A Level.

Other students who did were well were Eleanor Hadfield, 16, of Carrington Street, Barnsley, who got six As and one A*, and will take drama, history, film studies and psychology, and Ceris Davis, 16, of Rob Royd Close, Worsbrough Common, who will study biology, chemistry, English literature and geography.Both will go to Barnsley College.
