'I honestly can't see us going down' is the message from striker Kieffer Moore as Barnsley approach the 'biggest seven games of our careers.'

The 25-year-old joined from Ipswich Town in January after impressing on loan this season at the Reds' local rivals Rotherham United, who are hunting promotion and could replace Barnsley who are five points adrift of safety.

Asked about the two local rivals potentially swapping places, Moore told the Chronicle: "Rotherham are having a good season and they will deserve it if they do go up, but I honestly can't see us going down."

He added: "It could be the biggest seven games of our career. Nobody wants to go down and we will fight until the end. I don't feel the pressure at all, it's part of football. We just want to go out and show the fans we care and that we want to do right for this football club."

Moore scored his third Barnsley goal against Bristol City and assisted the other in a 2-2 draw on Friday, with the visitors netting a late leveller. He said: "I think it was probably my best performance so far. I got involved a lot more and I was putting them under lots of pressure. All I think about is scoring. I am happy to get goals and also to get assists. We just need to put more of our chances away, be more resilient at the back and see out wins a bit better."

Moore says he enjoys playing as the only striker in Jose Morais' 4-3-3 system. He said: "I think it is bringing the best out of us offensively. We make chances and we make the game exciting."

Moore limped off in the last match with cramp but is expected to play tomorrow against local rivals Sheffield United. He said: "It will be a good game and it should be an electric atmosphere. Having watched them on TV, I can see us turning them over and it would be a big three points."
