A WOMAN who was arrested in connection to the death of a man in Mapplewell has been released on bail, as the victim is formally identified.

The 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder following reports a man had been injured at a property on Braithwaite Street on Thursday.

At around 10.15pm on Thursday June 28, emergency services were called to the address after receiving reports a man was in a critical condition from suspected stab wounds.

The 31-year-old who has now been formally named as William Repton, was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

A post-mortem examination has concluded he died as a result of a stab wound to the chest. The investigation remains ongoing and at this time officers are not looking to identify anyone else in connection with the incident.
