IMPROVED lighting, new fencing and demolition of derelict garages are all suggestions of how to spend £300,000 earmarked to improve a Wombwell estate.

Berneslai Homes has set aside the money to address feedback from residents about 'environmental issues' on the estate, which covers the top of Pearson's Crescent, Monk Walk, Janet Walk, Spring Walk and Neville Walk.

A spokesperson said: "We received some great feedback and ideas from those residents taking part in surveys, an estate walkabout and general discussions.

"We will be considering all the feedback and will be holding further consultations to share this information and decide how the £300,000 budget will be spent on external environmental issues."
