A ROYSTON councillor has offered a £100 for information which leads to a conviction after flowers were stolen in the village.

Planters, which are raised beds owned by the Royston Ward Alliance, are dotted throughout the village and form part of its Yorkshire in Bloom campaign.

Two which are looked after by Coun Malcolm Clements outside the Ring O’Bells pub, on Royston Lane, were targeted by thieves - leading the angry councillor to offer a reward.

“I’m gutted, not just because they are looked after by me and my wife but because someone thinks it’s fine to steal from the community,” Coun Clements said, who has planted more this week.

“Royston Ward Alliance is trying to make the village a pleasant place to live, we can all do without antisocial behaviour such as this.”
