A SECONDARY school has closed part of a social bubble after a coronavirus case was recorded.

Outwood Academy Carlton informed parents that part of the year seven bubble would close after a positive recorded test.

Headteacher Paul Haynes said: “We have closed part of the year seven bubble. Our year sevens are split into classes with one teacher and are socially distanced within the classroom.

“After consultation with Public Health England we have been advised to close part of the bubble for children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case.

“The family of those affected have been contacted and will be required to self-isolate at home.

“If you have not been contacted it is because your child is not a close contact and they should continue to attend if they feel well.”

The school will remain open and the children in the closed bubble can return back to school on September 24.
