A WOMBWELL school has scored a hat-trick of wins after becoming the Barnsley champions in the School Games for the third year running.

Fifteen pupils from High View Primary won the Barnsley School Games primary sports hall athletics competition at Barnsley College's Honeywell site.

Gordon Calvert, sports co-ordinator for High View Primary, said: "It was a fantastic event and the kids' performance was excellent."We have some talented, talented children."

The top two schools, High View Primary and Darfield Upperwood Academy, will go on to represent Barnsley in the South Yorkshire School Games at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield in March.
