THERE is still time to donate to a shoe box appeal for the homeless.

Anyone wishing to put together a gift pack has until tomorrow to do so and take them to designated drop-off points across Barnsley for collection and distribution.

Once they have been collected, the shoe boxes will be given out to the homeless and vulnerable at a special Christmas dinner taking place at Barnsley Churches Drop-in Project on John Street, Barnsley, on December 23.

The appeal has is being co-ordinated by Monk Bretton lass Gemma Buckley who wants to give a little hope - and gift - to homeless people in Barnsley.

Items that can be included in the Christmas paper-wrapped shoe boxes are:hats, socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, face wipes, sanitary products, packet soups and drink sachets. You can also put together a pack for dogs.

These can be taken to drop-off points across the borough including Barnsley, Worsbrough, Darfield, Darton and Hoyland.
