SWARMS of flying ants have invaded across Barnsley and people have flocked to social media to complain about the creepy crawlies.
The flying ants have been spotted in virtually every area across the borough from Penistone to Bolton on Dearne, Royston to Elsecar.
Hundreds responded to a post on the Chronicle Facebook page about the ants telling us their patios were 'covered', as were a couple of kids' trampolines, the inside of many homes became overrun - even a private swimming pool was infested.
