A WRANGLE over the sale of Brierley allotments has kicked off in the village.
Brierley Allotment and Garden Society, who was recently awarded £8,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, wants to purchase the land owned by Jeremy Dixon but now Brierley Town Council is looking into lodging a rival bid.
Treasurer of the allotment society Barrie White, 70, of Co-operative Cottages, Brierley, stormed out of the last council meeting and says he is 'fed up' of talking to them.
A spokesman from Brierley Town Council added: "I can confirm that the council has registered an interest to purchase the Brierley allotments with the landowner."
