A WIND turbine between Grimethorpe, Cudworth and Shafton will be erected in June, it has been confirmed.

Paul Rea, chairman of the Four Winds Energy Co-op said work is already taking place under ground for the turbine's arrival.

The £1m wind turbine will be owned by the people of Cudworth, Grimethorpe and Shafton who bought shares through a co-operative scheme.

Once built, the turbine will generate enough electricity to power 370 households, but the power will be sold directly back to the National Grid to return revenue back to those who invested and to a community fund.
