POLICE are appealing for information after a head-on collision resulted in a man suffering life-threatening head injuries.

A 29-year-old man was transported to hospital on Saturday after the car he was driving crashed head-on into a car travelling in the opposite direction.

At around 9.30am it is reported that a blue Citroen C2 collided with a silver Kia sportage on Rotherham Road in the direction of Monk Bretton. Police believe that the driver of the Citroen lost control and collided with the Kia.

The Citroen is then reported to have left the road and collided with a wall.

The 61-year-old driver of the Kia suffered minor injuries.

Police are appealing for information and would like to speak to drivers who may hold dash-cam footage.
