Reds release four but want to keep Smith, Evans and Cowgill

Barnsley have released four of their young players while retaining two others and offering a contract extension to left-back George Smith.
Brad Abbott, George Maris, Ben Drennan and Bailey Gooda have all been released while the Reds have taken up their option to add another year to the contracts of Callum Evans and Jack Cowgill. Smith, who has played 44 first team games, has been offered a 12-month extension to his current deal which was due to expire this summer.
