WHEN Sarah Kilner’s granddad died from leukaemia seven years ago, Sarah and her cousin Amy Schofield decided to raise some money in his memory.

The two girls loved 70-year old ‘Tez’ Kilner so much they organised a charity night at Gawber Road WMC and asked for support from family and friends.

As the years have passed the fundraising in his memory has continued and more than £10,000 has been raised for the blood cancer charity Bloodwise.

This year Sarah, 29, from Hough Lane, Wombwell and 24-year old Amy have been at it again - raising money in memory of their granddad and also this year for their friend Jane Morris who is currently being treated for ovarian cancer at the Christie Hospital in Manchester.
