OFFICERS from across the borough have executed three warrants in Barnsley following community intelligence into cannabis cultivation.

On Wednesday, the Barnsley South East neighbourhood team executed a warrant at a property on Station Street in Hoyland where they located 143 cannabis plants.

Meanwhile, the Barnsley CID team conducted a further two warrants at properties on Conway Street in Stairfoot and Eldon Street North.

A total of 367 plants were found at the property on Conway Street and 53 plants from Eldon Street North.

Detective Inspector Woodward said: “As a police force we see the impact that cannabis has on our cities and towns.

“The money gained from cannabis often goes on to fuel serious and organised crime across the country and your intelligence helps us to take action against those in our communities who pose a risk.

“Please continue to report information on the SYP website or call 101. “

Besnik Kryeziu, 28, was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation on Station Road and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.
