ORGANISERS of a Barnsley music festival have increased capacity in order to meet demand after three times as many advance tickets were sold compared to last year.

The Underneath the Stars Festival, which takes place between July 24 and 26 at Cannon Hall Farm, Cawthorne, attracted about 5,000 people over two days last year. This year it has capacity to entertain 5,000 a day.

Underneath the Stars aims to showcase an eclectic mix of music including folk, swing, jazz, rock and roll, blues and world music as well as provide arts, crafts, cultural activities and artisan food.

It is being organised by Barnsley's singer-songwriter Kate Rusby and her family.
