A FREE service which is easing the pressure on GP surgeries in Barnsley could be rolled out across the country due to its success.
My Best Life is a partnership between South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA) and Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and supports residents with social, emotional and practical needs where a prescription for medication often isn’t the best solution.
SYHA, which has been praised by the government, says it has seen improvements in customers’ health and wellbeing as a result of social prescribing, with 81 per cent of customers feeling more confident in managing their own health and 68 per cent reducing their GP visits.
