A DOG has died after picking up heroin in Penistone.
A ward councillor who is looking into the incident says such reports are becoming ‘persistent and regular’.
Coun Robert Barnard informed members of Silkstone Parish Council of the death when the issue of dog poisoning was raised.
Only last month, an alert went out after a dog was reported poisoned in Silkstone’s Chestnut Park. That pet survived but mystery surrounds the death of another dog in the Silkstone area.
