BARNSLEY girl Jenni Evans, who was seriously injured in a motorbike crash in Thailand, has been moved to a private hospital in Bangkok and is receiving treatment after a u-turn by travel insurers.

Jenni, 22 of Sheffield Road, Barnsley, risks losing her leg after an horrific leg injury when the motorbike she was a passenger on crashed on May 12.

It was being driven by her boyfriend Joe Askham, who was also injured.

After being told there were problems with her travel insurance regarding use of the motorbike, a fundraising page was set up which quickly raised about £28,000 for treatment and to get her flown back to the UK.

But after ‘revisiting’ Jenni’s case, the travel insurance company has contacted her family to say it will cover all her health costs and her return to the UK when she is well enough.

Jenni’s mum Andrea said the family was relieved at the change of heart.
